Asian Refineries Reject Saudi Oil Deliveries From Red Sea Port

According to SaedNews:

According to Bloomberg, several Asian refineries have opposed Saudi Aramco’s request to deliver oil shipments from Yanbu port on the Red Sea, as securing vessels willing to travel through the increasingly dangerous waterway has become more challenging.

Recent attacks by Yemenis on oil tankers and energy facilities in the Red Sea region have significantly raised risks for shipping companies and added a new dimension to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Yanbu port

Yanbu port has become a key part of Saudi Arabia’s strategy to maintain large-scale crude exports after the war against Iran disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and created difficulties for oil supplies from the Persian Gulf.

With Yemen imposing a blockade on this strategic waterway, Saudi Arabia is facing major obstacles in exporting its oil. These challenges include higher costs for shipments passing through the Suez Canal and longer delivery times for exported cargoes.

The disruptions could eventually reduce Saudi oil exports, placing additional pressure on global oil supplies and potentially pushing oil prices higher.
