Saed News: India has a long history of holding unusual events and ceremonies, and weddings are an inseparable part of such traditions. However, a wedding where both the bride and groom had died 30 years ago has taken this to an extreme level.
According to SAEDNEWS, quoting Bitote, a complete wedding ceremony was held with the participation of the bride and groom’s families in a village in India. The only difference was that both the bride and groom had passed away three decades ago at birth.
The ceremony, which attracted significant attention on social media, was held in a village in “Dakshina Kannada,” where two families gathered to perform an old local tradition.
According to the customs of the region, a wedding ceremony must be held for deceased infants: a baby who died at birth is symbolically “married” to another infant who also died at birth.
An Indian social media user who shared the images wrote: “I am currently attending a wedding. You might think a wedding doesn’t need a tweet, but both the bride and groom died 30 years ago.”
Reports say that according to local customs, the entire wedding process is carried out—from matchmaking to preparations and celebrations. A wedding procession is organized, the groom’s family prepares the bride’s dress, and dinner is served on banana leaves for the guests.
