Hafeziyeh: The Resting Place of Iran’s Legendary Poet

The tomb of Hafiz, also known as Hafizah, lies to the north of Shiraz, nestled within two serene gardens. Visitors from near and far continue to pay homage to this beloved master of Persian poetry.

Set in a charming garden, the mausoleum exudes a unique sense of calm and tranquility. Rectangular reflecting pools punctuate the gardens, while well-tended orange trees, winding paths, gentle streams, and colorful flower beds create a welcoming atmosphere for those exploring Hafez’s tomb and memorial hall.

A traditional tea house on the grounds offers a peaceful spot for refreshments, while the dome above Hafez’s grave glows beautifully at night, serving as a striking focal point.

Nearby, the former tomb of Qaseem Khan Waali has been transformed into a library, housing 10,000 volumes devoted to the study of Hafez’s life and poetry.
