Saed News: On the occasion of Maryam Mirzakhani’s birthday—which has also been named the Day of Women in Mathematics—we take a look back at the last video she recorded, filled with motherly love, as a keepsake for her daughter.
According to the Society Service of Saed News, we commemorate Women in Mathematics Day in memory of Maryam Mirzakhani, a genius from Iran who revolutionized the world of mathematics. On May 12th (22 Ordibehesht), the birthday of this Iranian genius, has been named "International Day of Women in Mathematics" since 2019, following the proposal of the Women's Committee of the Iranian Mathematical Society and the approval of the International Union of Mathematical Societies. This day not only honors the memory of Maryam, but also serves as an opportunity to recognize the thousands of women who, silently and humbly, live within complex equations and abstract theories all over the world.
A girl from Farzanegan High School in Tehran who reached the peaks of science at Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. The first woman to bring home the Fields Medal. She is a role model for thousands of girls who, quietly, write the future amid equations and mathematical dreams.
