The Moment the Argument Turned into Murder
The murder occurred at Elif Kirav's home, where on Friday, April 18th, a bloody confrontation took place between the two close friends. After spending hours together and consuming alcohol, a violent argument ensued. According to Sevil Akdağ's initial statements, the conflict escalated into a physical attack by Kirav. During the altercation, Akdağ stabbed her friend with a knife, injuring her in the head, neck, and chest. Evidence shows that Kirav received more than 30 knife wounds. After the horrifying act, Akdağ attempted self-harm and fled the scene.
Neighbors, Witnesses to the Crime
On the morning of the incident, a neighbor from below Kirav’s apartment reported hearing the sounds of a quarrel and screams, and then noticed someone in black clothing fleeing the scene. Kirav's mother had been unable to contact her daughter and asked the neighbors to check on her. Upon entering the apartment, the neighbors found Kirav's lifeless body, drenched in blood, and called the police. A medical team confirmed her death upon arrival.
Rapid Arrest of the Murderer
The police, after reviewing security camera footage from the area, were able to arrest Sevil Akdağ in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul. During her initial interrogation, Akdağ stated that due to excessive alcohol consumption, she couldn’t recall the details of the incident. She claimed that the argument led to an attack by Kirav, and during the fight, she grabbed a knife. Security footage showed Akdağ quickly leaving the scene dressed in black. Kirav's brother, Furkan Kirav, confirmed that before the altercation, the two friends had been socializing and ordering food.

After her arrest, Sevil Akdağ was transferred to the police station and, after preliminary investigations, was sent to prison. She is 32 years old and from Mardin, Turkey. Akdağ had been interested in acting and music since her teenage years and had participated in several film and television projects, including horror and supernatural films such as "Kolyas" and "Ena: Black Magic." She also appeared in well-known TV series like "Forbidden Apple" and "Back Alleys." In addition to her acting career, she has been active in advertisements, music videos, and modeling projects, becoming recognized for her "youthful appearance." The actress is a mother to a 9-year-old daughter and has previously attended kickboxing classes.
