Saed News: Stay with us as we explore never-before-seen images of Iran during the Qajar era.
According to the history section of Saed News, these photos from the Qajar era—now over a hundred years old—can be viewed again and again, with something new to discover each time: from the details of clothing and facial expressions to the architecture and all the other elements that have significantly changed over the past century.
One image shows a funeral procession on a street in Tehran; the presence of a military band and a relatively large crowd indicates the high status of the deceased.
Another photo features a Qajar bride seated on a chair, surrounded by others—including a musician and a dancer standing beside her.
The two photos above relate to the wedding of Bibi Khavar Esfandiari Bakhtiari, daughter of one of the leaders of the Bakhtiari tribe, Mohammad Javad Khan Sardar Eghbal. The wedding took place in Naghon Castle, located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.
