SAEDNEWS: Iran Calls on Qatar to Maintain Its Mediation Role in US Talks
According to Saednews, Mahmoud Maleki, Head of the Public Relations Department at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded to remarks by Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director of the Media and Communication Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the visit of senior officials from Pakistan, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia to Tehran.
Maleki stated that the quadrilateral meeting in Tehran demonstrated Iran’s good faith and responsible approach toward protecting the shared interests of regional nations.
He added that Iran expects all regional countries, including Qatar, to reciprocate this goodwill through their policies and actions.
Maleki also called on Qatar, as a neighboring country, to uphold the principle of good neighborliness and refrain from allowing parties hostile to Iran to use its territory or facilities for military operations against the Islamic Republic.
Referring to the constructive discussions held during the four-party meeting involving Iran, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia, Maleki urged the Qatari official to exercise greater caution in public statements, considering Qatar’s role in ongoing diplomatic efforts.
