According to the political news service of Saed News, the Al-Quds newspaper reported:

In the seventh round of prisoner exchange between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian Resistance, 600 prisoners were released in exchange for eight Israeli captives. The selection of Rafah as the exchange site, despite the continued presence of occupying forces there, sent a message that after six months of relentless Israeli attacks on this area, their captives were being returned to them at the same location—demonstrating that the upper hand in this region still belongs to the Resistance.

The handover ceremony for two captives, Tal Shoham and Avira Mengistu, took place in Rafah, while four others, Omer Shem Tov, Hisham al-Sayed, Omer Finkret, and Eliyah Cohen, were released in Al-Nuseirat. Among the freed Palestinian prisoners were prominent figures and senior commanders, including Omar al-Zabin, a top commander, and Othman Bilal, a senior Hamas official. Also among them was Abdul Nasser Issa, a Hamas commander who led the movement’s operations in the northern West Bank.

However, the most significant released prisoner was Nael Barghouti, who spent 45 years in Israeli prisons—the longest period of captivity recorded.

During this round of releases, one of the freed Israeli soldiers symbolically kissed the foreheads of two Hamas members as a gesture of gratitude. This moment quickly went viral.

Hamas commented on the incident, stating: "This reflects the way we treat prisoners, which is based on our religious teachings and values."
