SAEDNEWS: Venezuelan foreign minister has lauded the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman’s stance that backed Venezuela’s right as an independent country and a defender of the United Nations Charter to protect its peace and sovereignty.
Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto shared a video on his official Telegram channel featuring remarks from Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Baghaei conveyed that, “On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we send our most sincere greetings to the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Venezuela’s right, as an independent nation and defender of the United Nations Charter, to protect its peace and sovereignty against unjustified external threats.”
The Venezuelan foreign minister highlighted the “bonds of solidarity and cooperation built on mutual respect for the great nation and government of Iran, which have enabled joint progress toward a multipolar world.”
In a recent press briefing, Baghaei underscored that “Venezuela is a member state of the United Nations and, as such, has the inherent right to defend itself against any external threat or aggression.” He added that “there is no justification or logic for threatening actions or the use of force against that country.”
