SAEDNEWS: Russian President Vladimir Putin is embarking on a two-day state visit to India.
The Kremlin has highlighted the special significance of these high-level contacts. During his visit, the Russian delegation is set to engage in in-depth discussions with Indian officials on cooperation across political, trade and economic, scientific and technological, and cultural and humanitarian fields.
Current international and regional issues are also expected to feature prominently on the agenda, according to TASS.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will welcome President Vladimir Putin at his residence for an informal one-on-one meeting. The following day will begin with an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace, attended by Modi and Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
The program will then include bilateral talks in both restricted and expanded formats, an official luncheon with a concert hosted by the Indian prime minister, a meeting with the president of India, and a state reception in Putin’s honor. The Russian leader will also participate in the Russia-India Business Forum and lay a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial.
In addition, ten intergovernmental documents and more than 15 agreements and memorandums between commercial and non-commercial entities from both countries are expected to be signed.
Putin’s visit carries the status of a state visit—the highest level in diplomatic protocol, marked by full ceremonial honors. Traditionally, such visits last several days and feature an extensive program, including cultural events.
