SAEDNEWS: Following up on the details of the explosion incident at Mehrabad Airport reveals that the explosion did not occur near the runways.
According to the Politics Desk of Saed News, quoting Hamshahri Online, investigations show that last night's confrontation between Iran’s air defense—especially in western Tehran—and the hostile Zionist enemy continued persistently in Tehran’s skies, successfully intercepting and repelling several targets.
These confrontations were also intense in the vicinity of Mehrabad International Airport last night, and around midnight, certain parts of the airport were targeted by the enemy.
Details of the incident show that the explosion, which occurred at midnight in Mehrabad, did not happen near the runways, main buildings, or airport facilities.
The blast took place behind Terminal 4, behind the maintenance building, and in the hangar area where fighter jets are housed.
Since early this morning, photos from the airport area following last night’s events have been circulating on social media, but they are not considered reliable.
According to the latest announcements, the country’s airspace remains closed.
Further details will be announced later.
