SAEDNEWS: The Israeli regime carried out airstrikes and tank fire east of Rafah, and launched additional air as well as artillery attacks near Khan Younis, with artillery fire also hitting the eastern part of Deir el-Balah and Gaza City’s Tuffah area.
Israeli attacks struck Gaza as efforts to recover the bodies of many missing residents are set to begin in Maghazi camp, in the center of the enclave, with support from the Red Cross, the Egyptian Committee, and local police, the Palestinian Civil Defense said.
Al Jazeera reported a wave of Israeli strikes across northern, central, and southern Gaza on Saturday morning. In the south, air and tank strikes targeted areas east of Rafah, with additional shelling near Khan Younis. Central Gaza saw artillery hit eastern Deir el-Balah, while Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood also came under tank and artillery fire.
Israeli forces have detained at least 30 people in Hebron and the nearby town of Beit Ummar. In Beit Ummar, dozens were assaulted and interrogated in the yard of a local brick factory. Similar interrogations took place in Hebron, which is also under a strict curfew, Al Jazeera reported.
Palestine’s Foreign Ministry condemned settler attacks across multiple West Bank cities, calling for urgent international intervention. Israeli settler militias targeted citizens in Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron on Friday, burning homes, destroying property, and storming residential areas.
In a post on X, the ministry described the violence as “systematic terrorism” and part of a “dangerous and ongoing escalation” aimed at facilitating ethnic cleansing. Settler attacks have surged in the West Bank this year, with 29 recorded in the week starting November 11. Israeli authorities rarely take action to stop the attacks or hold perpetrators accountable.
