SAEDNEWS: Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, inaugurated the country’s largest coal mine rescue and relief center in Tabas on Saturday.
Iran has inaugurated a state-of-the-art mining safety facility in Tabas, South Khorasan, aiming to raise safety standards and respond swiftly to mining emergencies.
Built on a 15,000-square-meter site with 4,200 square meters of indoor space, the center is equipped to handle accidents and provide training and support across the mining sector. Officials emphasize that the hub will play a critical role in reducing risks and improving occupational safety in coal mines.
Tabas is strategically significant, as the province contains around 70% of Iran’s coal reserves, making this facility a cornerstone for safer mining operations nationwide.
