SAEDNEWS: Narges Mohammadi’s Interview from Evin Prison with Angelina Jolie Exposes the Anti-Regime Myth About Political Prisoners’ Conditions

Time Travel: Narges Mohammadi’s Explosive Interview with Angelina Jolie in Evin Prison / Yasmin Pahlavi Exposes the Big Lie

According to Saed News, citing Fars, Narges Mohammadi—who recently received the Nobel Peace Prize but remained silent on the issue of Palestine—has now conducted an interview with Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie. This interview has been met with sharp criticism and dramatic reactions from the anti-government camp.

One of the first notable and strong reactions came from Yasmin Pahlavi, daughter-in-law of the former Pahlavi dynasty. She sarcastically questioned how someone who claims she has been unable to speak with her own son for months could suddenly conduct an interview with a prominent American figure like Angelina Jolie.

Writing on the topic, Pahlavi asked: “How does a political prisoner obtain permission to speak with Angelina Jolie but cannot get permission to speak with her own son? This is a difficult puzzle for many of us.”

Similarly, Mojtaba Vahedi, a reformist now aligned with the anti-government camp, criticized the interview, saying Mohammadi “deserves a red card” for it. He added: “Why should we bear any cost for an interview that contains no meaningful content?”

Vahedi continued: “Here in the U.S., when an American compares Narges Mohammadi’s interview with Angelina Jolie to our accounts of prison problems, they conclude that we are lying.”

Interestingly, some social media users on X (formerly Twitter) have referred to Mohammadi as a “fake opposition figure.”

One user commented: “How is it that in recent years, she is said to be denied the right to speak with her children—and her family confirms this—yet Mohammadi is constantly issuing statements and giving interviews?”

Another user on X noted: “The phone conversation between Narges Mohammadi and Angelina Jolie sends a message to the West: the situation of prisoners’ rights in Iran isn’t as bad as claimed. In this way, Mohammadi and Jolie inadvertently served the regime.”

Some social media users pointed out that the interview was conducted in writing, which still indicates that Mohammadi’s family maintains regular contact with her and facilitated the interview.

The anti-government camp has highlighted that political prisoners are not held in the black, terrifying conditions often depicted in their claims. In fact, previous interviews with foreign media, along with statements and correspondence from political prisoners, have been documented. What this particular interview revealed, however, was a significant blow to the anti-government narrative exaggerating torture and hardships in Iranian prisons.

Although there have been numerous false reports about Mohammadi’s hunger strikes and health, many noticed that when she was released from prison, her physical condition suggested that those reports were largely fabricated.
