Russia Exposes Ukraine's Use of Western Arms in Kursk Conflict

According to SAEDNEWS, Ukrainian forces struck a bridge in the Glushkovsky district of Kursk on Friday, advancing their incursion into western Russian territory.

“For the first time, the Kursk region was hit by Western-made rocket launchers, probably American HIMARS,” Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated late Friday via the Telegram messaging app. This comment underscores the growing concern among Russian officials regarding the involvement of Western military technology in the conflict.

The attack resulted in the complete destruction of the bridge and tragically claimed the lives of volunteers who were assisting in the evacuation of local civilians. Russia’s news agency TASS reported on the incident, naming two volunteers it claimed were “murdered” in the attack.

Additionally, Russian authorities expressed alarm over the impact of the bridge’s destruction, indicating that it will severely impede efforts to evacuate civilians from the affected area.

This incursion into Kursk marks a concerning development, occurring just months after the US and several NATO allies had authorized Ukraine to utilize their weapons for strikes against targets within Russia.
