SAEDNEWS: Authorities say a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was shot and killed at his home
Nuno F.G. Loureiro, 47, was found Monday night at his home in the upscale Boston suburb of Brookline. He was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on Tuesday, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office.
The DA’s office said the homicide investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have examined whether his death could be linked to this weekend’s shooting at Brown University. A senior law enforcement official familiar with both cases told ABC News that there is currently no evidence suggesting a connection.
