SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Judiciary Chief congratulated the country’s national astronomy and astrophysics Olympiad team after they secured five gold medals and won the championship for the third consecutive year at the International Olympiad in Vietnam.
According to Saednews, Iranian Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei described the country’s success at the 2026 International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics as a major source of pride and happiness for the Iranian people.
In a message published Sunday night, Mohseni-Ejei said the achievement demonstrated the determination of Iran’s younger generation to excel in highly advanced fields of science and knowledge. He added that the success reflected Iran’s return to its rightful position among the leading nations of global scientific civilization, supported by domestic scientific capabilities and the persistent efforts of its talented scholars.
The judiciary chief noted that the achievement came despite what he described as efforts by global powers to isolate Iran. He said Iranian young people continue to advance in scientific fields, achieving new successes that frustrate the country’s adversaries while bringing pride and happiness to the Iranian public.
Mohseni-Ejei congratulated the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s education system, and the country’s patriots on the accomplishment. He also expressed appreciation for the dedication of the team’s coaches and the sacrifices made by their families.
The 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026) was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 25 to October 5, 2026. Iran won five gold medals and finished first overall among more than 66 participating countries and 320 students.
