According to SAEDNEWS, In a thrilling showdown on Saturday evening, Iranian taekwondo fighter Salimi triumphed over Caden Cunningham from Britain, securing a 2-1 victory in the Men's +80kg final. This win not only adds to Iran's impressive performance at the Paris Olympics but also highlights the strength of its taekwondo team.
Iran has made a significant mark at these Games, sending a total of four taekwondo competitors, all of whom have clinched medals. Notably, female athletes have also shone brightly: Nahid Kiani claimed a silver medal in the -57kg category, while Mobina Nematzadeh secured a bronze in the -49kg division.
As of the latest updates, Iranian athletes have amassed a total of 10 medals so far, consisting of 3 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals. This impressive tally positions Iran at 21st place in the overall medal standings at the Paris Olympics.
