According to Saednews, Lake Louise was named in honor of Princess Louise, the daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of the Governor General of Canada, a British colony at the time.
Lake Louise was previously known as “Emerald Lake” because of its emerald-green color, but its name was later changed to Louise in honor of Princess Louise. The lake is located in Banff National Park, among the Canadian Rockies in southern Canada. It is famous for its exceptionally vibrant colors, and its waters are fed by glacial streams flowing down from the surrounding mountains.
