According to Saed News (citing Simorgh), one of the most unusual identity transformations in history was carried out by Shi Pei Pu, a Chinese spy.
He was originally an opera singer who, at the request of the government, turned to espionage. For 20 years, Shi Pei Pu disguised himself as a woman and used this identity to steal information from the French ambassador.
He even succeeded in convincing the French ambassador that he had fathered a child with him. (The boy presented to the ambassador was actually purchased from the black market.)
In 1986, the spy was identified and arrested, after which he was tried in court.
