SAEDNEWS: Archaeologists Uncover “City of the Dead” in Egypt with at Least 300 Tombs After Five Years of Work
According to Saed News , If you’ve ever watched the adventurous Indiana Jones films, this discovery might feel like a story straight out of the movies. The real-life tale, however, is just as fascinating.

Archaeologists have uncovered a region in Egypt known as the “City of the Dead,” named for the more than 300 tombs and mummified bodies found there.
A research team has been studying this area for approximately five years and recently located the City of the Dead in Aswan, a city whose history dates back over 4,500 years. Despite Aswan’s long history as a commercial, mining, and military hub, researchers still know very little about the people who once lived there.

Among the tombs discovered, archaeologists identified 36 that were reused repeatedly over a span of 900 years, each containing 30 to 40 mummified bodies. Many of these tombs appear to hold the remains of families who likely died from infectious diseases.

The team leader explained, “This site serves as a resting place for the dead. After examining the mummies and uncovering their stories, we return them respectfully to their tombs.”
