SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said that allegations surrounding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program are being used by the United States as a means of exerting pressure, reflecting Washington’s broader hostile approach toward Tehran.
According to Saednews: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said on Tuesday that the United States has repeatedly violated fundamental principles of international law, including the sovereign equality of states and the right of nations to self-determination.
He described allegations surrounding Iran’s nuclear program as a pretext for imposing harsh sanctions and restrictions, emphasizing that no evidence has been provided to demonstrate that Tehran’s nuclear activities have deviated from their peaceful objectives.
Baqaei further argued that Washington uses diplomacy as a means of imposing its demands rather than engaging in genuine negotiations. He added that remarks about returning Iran to the Stone Age expose the hostile nature of US policies toward the country.
Tracing the origins of Washington’s hostility toward Tehran to its intervention in Iran during the 1950s, the spokesman said that attempts to weaken the country through economic sanctions and accusations over its nuclear program have ultimately failed.
