SAEDNEWS: Iran Reaffirms Commitment to Diplomacy While Remaining Ready to Defend Itself, Araqchi Says
According to Saednews, In an interview with ICANA on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said a recent Iranian delegation visit to Qatar, headed by a deputy foreign minister, was intended to continue consultations with Qatari mediators, who had also traveled to Tehran in recent weeks.
He emphasized that no arrangements had been made for negotiations with the United States during the visit. Consultations with mediators regarding a two-day proposal are still ongoing, but no final decision has been reached.
Araghchi stated that any potential agreement would depend on the responses Iran receives to its questions from the other side. He stressed that Tehran is making every effort to move the process forward, expressing hope that the opposing side would act rationally and prioritize diplomacy over other alternatives.
The foreign minister further emphasized that Iran is prepared to face all possible scenarios, noting that directives issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei to senior military commanders clearly reflect the Islamic Republic's determination.
He added that Iran's Armed Forces have been assigned specific missions and have significantly strengthened their capabilities by drawing lessons from the two previous wars of aggression launched by the United States and the Zionist regime.
Araghchi reiterated that Iran remains fully prepared for both military defense and diplomatic engagement, stressing that Washington's future course of action will ultimately depend on its own rational judgment.
