SAEDNEWS: US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that an American soldier was killed in northern Iraq on July 18 during the controlled disposal of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. An investigation is underway.

According to Saednews, A US soldier sustained minor injuries in a recent incident and is receiving medical treatment, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Sunday.

In a separate update, CENTCOM announced that military personnel had discovered unidentified human remains during an extensive search following an Iran-linked attack in Jordan on July 17, which had previously left two US soldiers dead and another missing.

According to a statement shared by CENTCOM on the social media platform X, the remains were found earlier on Sunday at the incident site. Officials said a forensic examination is underway to determine the identity of the remains.

Earlier reports from CENTCOM confirmed that two American soldiers were killed and a third was reported missing after the July 17 attack in Jordan.

The developments come amid heightened regional tensions after Iran launched missile and drone strikes targeting US military bases in response to renewed US military actions against the country.
