SAEDNEWS: U.S. President Donald Trump once again repeated his rhetoric and threats against Iran's infrastructure, claiming that the United States would strike Iran very hard if necessary.
According to the political desk of Saed News Analytical News Agency, quoting ISNA, U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday evening that the United States would continue carrying out military strikes against Iran unless Tehran returns to negotiations, according to remarks reported by Iranian media citing an interview with Fox News.
Trump claimed that the attacks would intensify over the coming days, stating that the U.S. would strike Iran "very hard" that night, again the following night, and continue escalating operations in the week ahead.
He further alleged that Iran's energy infrastructure, power plants, and bridges could become military targets unless the Iranian government agrees to resume negotiations.
When asked whether he believed Iran was serious about reaching an agreement, Trump responded that he believed Iran had "no other choice."
According to the report, Trump also claimed that military operations would continue until he decided they should stop, adding that in the final stage of the campaign, power plants and bridges would be targeted.
He repeated that all of Iran's bridges could become targets if Tehran refused to return to the negotiating table.
Trump also asserted that U.S. officials had held talks with Iranian representatives on Tuesday and claimed Washington had warned Tehran that it must reach an agreement or face severe consequences.
He stated that he would not sign any agreement unless it guaranteed that Iran could not obtain a nuclear weapon.
Repeating long-standing allegations regarding Iran's nuclear program, Trump claimed Iran had been only two weeks away from acquiring a nuclear weapon and argued that previous strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities had prevented that outcome. The report notes that U.S. intelligence agencies have not publicly confirmed this assessment.
Trump also referred to what he described as activity at the "Koh Kolang" facility, claiming the United States was closely monitoring developments there and would respond immediately to any Iranian action. He added that the U.S. possesses weapons capable of striking deeply buried targets.
When asked whether he ruled out the possibility of a limited ground operation, Trump replied that "sometimes a ground operation is necessary."
He again warned that if Iran failed to return to negotiations, U.S. forces would target bridges and power plants during the following week.
Addressing whether the conflict had effectively resumed, Trump said the situation could be described however people wished but maintained that the United States was conducting extensive military operations against Iran.
He further claimed that Iranian targets along the coastline had been struck and suggested that little military capability remained in the Strait of Hormuz area.
Asked about the possibility of seizing Kharg Island, Trump declined to answer directly, calling the question inappropriate, while claiming that the island had already been attacked two or three times.
Trump also asserted that he had instructed U.S. forces to avoid directly targeting Iran's oil facilities, leaving only a limited buffer zone around them to prevent damage to the global economy.
He claimed that even if American forces withdrew immediately, rebuilding Iran's military capabilities would take approximately 20 years, adding that "military strength" was the only effective way to negotiate with Iran.
Finally, Trump alleged that the two sides had reached an agreement two days earlier but that Iran violated it at the last moment.
