SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson offered condolences to Lebanon after three Lebanese soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, calling the attack a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty.
According to Saednews, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has condemned an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon that killed three Lebanese military personnel, including senior officer Brigadier General Wissam Sabra.
In a statement posted on his X account on Saturday, Baqaei expressed condolences over the deaths of the soldiers, who were killed when an Israeli strike targeted their military vehicle on the Khardali-Nabatieh road in southern Lebanon.
He said the attack demonstrated that Israel's hostility extends to all segments of Lebanese society, arguing that the Israeli regime does not distinguish between military personnel, resistance fighters, and civilians.
Baqaei described the strike as a clear violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and characterized the attack on the military vehicle as a serious crime against Lebanon and its armed forces.
According to the Iranian spokesperson, the incident sends a message that Israel does not seek security, stability, or prosperity for Lebanon.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the leadership and members of the Lebanese Army, and the Lebanese government and people.
The statement followed an announcement by the Lebanese Army confirming that several military personnel, including Brigadier General Wissam Sabra, were killed in the airstrike on a military vehicle traveling along the Khardali-Nabatieh road in southern Lebanon.
