SAEDNEWS: American military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the headquarters of anti-Iran separatist groups in Erbil, were targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks early Wednesday morning.
According to Saednews reports, on Tuesday evening the U.S. military allegedly targeted an oil tanker in international waters under the pretext of enforcing an unlawful and inhumane naval blockade against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a release that it had targeted and disabled the engine room of an empty Botswana-flagged oil tanker that was reportedly en route to Kharg Island.
In response to what Iran described as an act of aggression, the Islamic Republic of Iran reportedly launched a missile attack against the American-Israeli vessel Panaya near the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military was then accused of continuing ceasefire violations by attacking a military communications tower in the southern part of Qeshm Island.
Iran subsequently launched what it described as a significant missile and drone operation aimed at deterrence and retaliation against its adversaries in the Persian Gulf region.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced in a statement:
"We are under attack from hostile missiles and drones. Air defense systems are engaging hostile targets. Citizens should follow safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities."
Arab media sources reported explosions in the city of Al-Surra in southern Kuwait, as well as at Ali Al Salem Air Base, which hosts U.S. military personnel. Reports also indicated that Arifjan Base was struck by a ballistic missile.
Minutes later, Al Jazeera reported the activation of warning sirens and air defense systems in Bahrain. According to the reports, Al Jafri Base and the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain were hit during the attacks.
Subsequent unconfirmed reports suggested powerful explosions at locations housing U.S. military personnel in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The Iraqi outlet Sabereen News reported that military vessels operating in waters near the UAE coastline were targeted by missiles and drones.
Unofficial sources further claimed that several U.S. military bases in the UAE, including Al Dhafra, Al Safran, and Al Minhad, came under attack.
Several hours later, CENTCOM confirmed in a statement that U.S. forces stationed in Gulf countries had been targeted by Iranian missiles and drones.
Meanwhile, facilities associated with anti-Iranian terrorist and separatist groups in Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, were reportedly subjected to sustained Iranian attacks for several hours.
