SAEDNEWS: Iranian MP from Tehran: Bahrainis are puppets in the hands of the Americans and have taken a step already on the White House agenda, and this will be their last hostile attempt against Iran
According to the political service of Saed News, Manouchehr Mottaki commented on the behind-the-scenes draft resolution proposed by the United States and Bahrain regarding the Strait of Hormuz at the UN Security Council, stating that Bahrain’s leaders, due to their short-sightedness and lack of understanding, do not realize that just as they should not “joke” with the Americans, they should also not “joke” with Iran.
Citing Mellat, the member of Iran’s Parliament Economic Committee said that Bahrainis, acting as “American puppets,” have initiated an action that was already on the White House agenda, adding that this move will likely be their final anti-Iranian effort.
He noted that Bahrain had ignored its previous failure in attempting to pass an anti-Iranian resolution at the UN Security Council. He added that during the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in Istanbul, they once again tried to advance Washington’s Iranophobia policy but faced opposition from parliamentary representatives of various countries, stating that the world’s parliaments effectively rejected Bahrain’s position.
A member of Iran’s 12th Parliament representing Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Eslamshahr, and Pardis further stated that some permanent members of the UN Security Council have warned the United States and Bahrain against pursuing a new resolution. He added that if Bahrain’s officials heed these warnings, it would be in their interest; otherwise, they may face a similar outcome to previous failures.
Meanwhile, representatives of China and Russia at the United Nations criticized the US–Bahrain draft resolution concerning the Strait of Hormuz at the UN Security Council, stating that both its timing and content are inappropriate and that its adoption would not contribute to resolving the crisis—a stance widely interpreted as a signal of a potential veto by the two countries.
