SAEDNEWS: Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that during the war between the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, he secretly traveled to the United Arab Emirates and met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE rejected the claim and called the statement from Netanyahu’s office “completely baseless.”
According to the policy desk of Saed News, a media outlet reported that the Israeli prime minister’s decision to make public his visit to the United Arab Emirates during the war against Iran stemmed from political concerns related to a planned visit by the former Israeli prime minister to the UAE.
According to ISNA, Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Sunday night:
“Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, decided to publicize his wartime visit to the United Arab Emirates—a trip that the UAE had apparently requested remain secret—due to political concerns over a planned visit by former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett to the UAE.”
On Wednesday, Netanyahu said that during the war between the United States and Israel against Iran, he had secretly traveled to the UAE and met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the UAE president. The UAE denied the claim and described Netanyahu’s statement as “completely baseless.”
Channel 12 added in its report:
“UAE officials had explicitly requested that the meeting remain confidential and were angered by Netanyahu’s decision to reveal it, which, despite warming relations, sparked a diplomatic crisis between the two sides.”
According to two sources familiar with details cited by Channel 12, Netanyahu was concerned that Bennett’s visit might be made public while his own meeting remained confidential, creating the impression that “the Emiratis had officially hosted Bennett but not the current Israeli prime minister.”
It remains unclear whether the reported visit by Naftali Bennett ultimately took place.
