SAEDNEWS: Trump Reportedly Considers Large-Scale Military Action Against Iran and Warns Tehran: “Time Is Running Out”
According to the political service of Saed News Agency, citing CNN, U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting on Saturday with senior members of his national security team to discuss the future course of the war with Iran.
According to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN, the meeting took place at Trump’s golf club in Virginia, attended by Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
The meeting came just hours after Trump returned from an important visit to China, which maintains close relations with Iran.
In a post on social media on Sunday, Trump claimed that “time is running out for Iran, and they must move quickly, otherwise nothing will remain of them. Time is of the essence.”
According to the report, Trump has shown increasing dissatisfaction in recent days with Tehran’s approach to diplomatic negotiations, and has also expressed concern over the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on global oil prices. The White House has not yet issued any official comment in response to media inquiries.
CNN also reported, citing U.S. officials, that Trump and his team decided during their visit to Beijing to postpone a decision on how to deal with Iran until the results of his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping become clearer.
The network previously reported that Trump has recently been giving more serious consideration to the option of resuming large-scale military operations against Iran, which some U.S. officials believe could pressure Tehran into reaching a settlement to end the war, although Trump still prefers a diplomatic solution.
The source added that Trump is expected to hold another meeting with his national security team early this week to follow up on developments in the war.
CNN also reported that the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has prepared a set of military plans in case Trump decides to escalate attacks, including targeting Iran’s energy facilities and infrastructure.
Axios was the first to report the Saturday meeting.
According to a spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister and a U.S. official, Trump also held a phone call on Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, reports indicate no new signs of de-escalation from senior Iranian officials. Iranian media reported on Sunday that Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Pakistan has played a key mediating role in recent months in peace talks between Iran and the United States.
During these meetings, Tehran officials emphasized that the U.S. presence in the Middle East is a factor of instability in the region.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Masoud Pezeshkian stated during the meeting that the United States and Israel “have always sought, through divisive projects and the spread of mistrust, to pit Islamic countries against one another,” stressing that “Iran seeks honest and sustainable relations based on good neighborliness with regional Islamic countries.”
