SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is traveling to New Delhi to participate in a meeting of BRICS foreign ministers.
According o Saednews, The meeting will take place in India’s capital on Thursday and Friday, May 14 and 15, under India’s chairmanship, with discussions centered on regional stability, multilateral cooperation, and economic resilience.
Araqchi is also set to hold talks and exchange views with India’s External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, along with other ministers and officials attending the BRICS gathering.
This meeting will serve as a prelude to the 18th BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi this September.
BRICS is a bloc of eleven countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran.
The group functions as a platform for political and diplomatic coordination among Global South nations, covering a wide range of areas.
Its key objectives include strengthening economic, political, and social cooperation among member states, while enhancing the role and influence of Global South countries in international governance.
BRICS also aims to improve the legitimacy, fairness in participation, and efficiency of major global institutions such as the UN, IMF, World Bank, and WTO, while promoting sustainable development and greater social inclusion.
