SAEDNEWS: Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, Responds to the European Union’s Hostile Action Against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
According to Saed News Agency’s political desk, citing Ettelaatonline, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reacted to the European Union’s move against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a post on the social media platform X, writing:
Several countries are working to prevent the outbreak of a full-scale war in our region. None of them are European.
Europe, however, is busy fanning the flames. After pursuing the so-called “snapback” mechanism at the direction of the United States, it is now committing another major strategic mistake by labeling our national army as a “terrorist organization.”
Beyond the blatant hypocrisy of its selective outrage—inaction in the face of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, alongside its haste to “defend human rights” in Iran—this European public relations display is largely aimed at concealing the reality that it is an actor in steep decline.
Moreover, given that this continent will undoubtedly be deeply affected by a full-scale war in our region—including the spillover effects of rising energy prices—the European Union’s current stance severely harms its own interests.
Europeans deserve better than what their governments are offering them.
