Claim by U.S. War Secretary About a Deal With Iran

According to SAEDNEWS, Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, claimed at the Singapore security summit that any agreement with Iran would be a “good deal.”

In his contradictory remarks, he also claimed that Washington is seeking to reach an agreement with Tehran.

Hegseth also praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating the negotiation process between Iran and the United States.

Concern of the U.S. War Secretary over China’s military activities

Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, stated in another part of his remarks: allies who refuse to accept their responsibilities will face fundamental changes in the way the United States engages with them.

Hegseth emphasized: “Any power’s dominance over the Pacific Ocean will disrupt the regional balance of power, and no country, including China, can impose its control over it.”

He added that China’s military expansion and its growing activities in the region and beyond are a matter of serious concern.

Call for increased military burden-sharing

The U.S. War Secretary said: Europe and NATO, after years of reducing military spending and excessive reliance on trade, now face decisive choices.

According to Hegseth, when other U.S. partners in the region also follow South Korea’s example in increasing their military spending, the region will become safer.
