SAEDNEWS: Ali Rabiei, the Iranian president’s social affairs adviser, and the family of the late Major General Qassem Soleimani issued separate messages of condolence following the death of Ali Larijani.
According to SAEDNEWS, Rabiei described Larijani as one of the central and influential figures in Iran’s decision‑making structure, saying that his loss represents more than the passing of an individual.
“Ali Larijani, one of the key and influential figures in the decision‑making structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is not merely the loss of a person; it is the loss of one of the pillars of strategic rationality during critical moments for the country,” Rabiei wrote.
He noted that throughout decades of service in major governmental positions, Larijani demonstrated the ability to navigate pressure, complex political conditions, and competing interests through experience, analysis, and an understanding of realities on the ground.
Rabiei added that Larijani was not a temporary political figure but part of the country’s institutional memory and continuity of governance. He also emphasized that his death comes at a time when Iran faces multiple internal and external challenges.
Rabiei extended condolences to Larijani’s family, colleagues, and the Iranian people, and prayed for patience for his relatives.
In a separate statement, the family of Major General Qassem Soleimani also offered condolences following Larijani’s death.
Their message described the killing of Larijani and his companions as another sign of what they called the injustice faced by the Iranian people and praised those who continue to resist global powers.
The statement said the Iranian nation is experiencing significant and historic moments, adding that the sacrifices made by prominent figures will not go unanswered.
The family also described Larijani as a close friend and companion of Soleimani who had played an important role in political, cultural, scientific, and security affairs during years of service to the country.
The message concluded by expressing confidence that the sacrifices of such figures would strengthen what they described as the path of resistance and ensure its eventual success.
