Ingredients for No-Bake Chocolate Roll:

  • 3 eggs

  • 5 tablespoons of flour

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons of hot water

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

  • Pastry cream (as needed)

How to Make No-Bake Chocolate Roll:

  1. Prepare the ingredients: In the first step of making the no-bake chocolate roll, break the eggs into a suitable bowl. Add the vanilla and sugar to it. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture for 3 minutes on high speed. The mixture should become fluffy and turn into a creamy color. In another bowl, mix the cocoa powder with hot water until the color develops. Then, add the cocoa mixture into the egg mixture. Mix the ingredients together. Next, add the vegetable oil and beat the mixture for another minute. You will have a smooth batter for the chocolate roll.

  2. Prepare the batter: In the second step, mix the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and sift them. Then add the sifted flour mixture into the egg mixture. Gently stir with a spatula until the batter is smooth.

  3. Bake the chocolate roll: In the third step, line a double-sided pan with parchment paper and grease it lightly. Pour the roll batter gently into the pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Place the pan on a heat diffuser and reduce the heat. Let the cake bake on low heat for 15 minutes. Check the cake's doneness using a toothpick. Flip the pan over to bake the other side.

  4. Let the roll cool: In the fourth step, let the roll cool in the pan. Place a piece of parchment paper on your work surface. Turn the roll onto the paper and peel off the parchment paper stuck to the roll. To improve the appearance of the dessert, trim the dry edges of the roll.

Place a clean cloth on the roll and then roll it up either from the length or width. Refrigerate the roll for one hour. After an hour, remove it from the fridge and carefully unroll it. Spread pastry cream over it. Roll it back up and refrigerate it for another hour. Finally, before serving, decorate it with chocolate sauce, powdered pistachios, and coconut.
