SAEDNEWS: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan briefed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on recent peace talks with Azerbaijan in Washington, highlighting mutual respect for sovereignty and the strategic importance of Iran-Armenia relations.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, updating him on the outcomes of recent negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington.

According to IRNA, citing the Armenian state news agency Armenpress, Pashinyan provided a report on the recent talks held in the U.S. capital and emphasized the opportunities that the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan creates for the region.

Pashinyan stated that regional routes will operate based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of countries, and under the framework of reciprocity. The Armenian Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for the Iranian counterpart’s impartial assessment of the Washington agreements and stressed the importance of Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to Armenia.

This phone call took place shortly after Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister, told Armenpress that the “Trump Route” project, connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, will operate under Armenian sovereignty without third-party control.
