SAEDNEWS: The Sukhoi 35 multirole fighter, equipped with advanced avionics and long-range capabilities, significantly strengthens Iran’s air combat power, rivaling top US fighters and securing a strategic edge in regional defense.
According to Saed News citing Triangle Online: Reza Seraj, a political analyst, wrote:
The sukhoi 35 is a multirole fighter aircraft designed for operations in all weather conditions and is highly suitable for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. This aircraft features an autopilot system that operates throughout all flight phases, including low-altitude and cruise flight.
The operational range of this fighter is 1,500 kilometers, which extends to 3,000 kilometers with additional fuel tanks. Furthermore, using aerial refueling, its range can be increased up to 5,200 kilometers (3,200 miles). With its onboard fuel reserves, the sukhoi 35 can remain airborne for approximately 4.5 hours. In cruise flight mode, its endurance extends to about 10 hours.
This fighter is also capable of conducting electronic warfare operations. The sukhoi 35 can carry advanced weapons up to a maximum load of 8 tons. Its armament includes a cannon, various bombs, air-to-air missiles, and supersonic anti-ship missiles. The supersonic missiles compatible with this fighter are called Onyx, which have a range between 120 to 300 kilometers.
The first units of the sukhoi 35 fighters were delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2012. This fighter matches the American F-15, F-16, and F-18 jets and fully meets the operational needs of the vast country of Iran. With possession of this aircraft, Iran gains a significant advantage in air combat.
