Windows 11 was officially launched by Microsoft a few weeks ago, and many users have installed its beta version. However, it now seems that the option to return to Windows 10 is very limited for these users, with only a specific time window to revert to the previous version while keeping their data intact.

According to Saed News, citing Digiato, Windows 11 is one of Microsoft’s most exciting operating systems, offering several advanced security features. The operating system ensures a high level of user security through the TPM chip, which is a key requirement for Windows 11. Fortunately, Microsoft is not forcing this version on users, unlike Windows 10. This means that if a user installs Windows 11 and later decides to return to the previous version, Microsoft has made this possible, but there’s an important condition.

Windows 10 will continue to be supported for about four more years, so there’s no concern on that front. However, Microsoft has explained that reverting to Windows 10 from Windows 11 is only possible within a 10-day window. In the FAQ section of its website, the company states:

"After upgrading to Windows 11, you have a 10-day period during which you can return to Windows 10 while keeping your files and data. After the 10th day, to revert to the previous version, you’ll need to back up your data and perform a clean installation of Windows 10."

If you’ve installed Windows 11 on your device and are unsure whether you want to stay with this version, it’s best to make a decision soon. If more than 10 days have passed since you installed Windows 11, reinstalling Windows 10 will require wiping all data on the Windows drive, and transferring your data back to the previous version won’t be simple. However, if you’re still within the 10-day window, you can easily revert to Windows 10 and retain all your settings and configurations.
