SAEDNEWS: Anis al-Dawla, who had never worn a wedding dress in her entire life and longed for the experience, finally donned one in her old age and captured the moment in a keepsake photograph—most likely taken by Naser al-Din Shah himself.
According to Saed News’ society service, citing Faradid, Anis al-Doleh was initially a temporary wife of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. See an image of Anis al-Doleh, Naser al-Din Shah’s wife, in her wedding dress.
Anis al-Doleh started as a temporary consort of Naser al-Din Shah. After gaining prominence and becoming the leading lady of the harem, the Shah insisted on making her his permanent wife. However, Anis al-Doleh refused, believing that the hour she became the Shah’s temporary wife was auspicious, and she did not want to convert the temporary marriage into a permanent one.
Having never worn a wedding dress in her life, Anis al-Doleh finally wore one in her later years, capturing this moment in a photograph—likely taken by Naser al-Din Shah himself—as a cherished memory.
