Araqchi Warns: Israel Poses a Direct Threat to Regional and Global Peace

In a phone conversation on Wednesday evening with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi strongly condemned the recent Israeli strike on Qatar, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several Palestinian and Qatari citizens. He reaffirmed Iran’s solidarity and support for Qatar in the wake of the attack.

Araqchi denounced Israel’s military aggression as a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, stressing the urgent need for decisive action by regional states and the international community to hold the regime accountable for repeated breaches of global norms.

Highlighting ongoing Israeli crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories and attacks against Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and now Qatar, Araqchi described Israel as an immediate and serious threat to regional and international peace and security. He called for unity among regional countries, including severing all economic and diplomatic ties with Israel, to end its warmongering and criminal activities.

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman welcomed Iran’s support and emphasized the need for both practical and political coordination among Islamic and regional states to confront Israel’s unlawful actions. He confirmed that Qatar will take all necessary measures to protect its national security.

The recent strike targeted Hamas leadership in Doha, killing five Hamas members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, and one member of Qatar’s security forces, drawing international condemnation.
