SAEDNEWS: A man in Myanmar has been arrested for marrying two sex dolls at the country’s most sacred Buddhist site.
According to Saed News’ social affairs section, a man in Myanmar was arrested for marrying two sex dolls at one of Buddhism’s most sacred sites. South Asia is a region teeming with diverse religions and cultures, and stepping into these countries often feels like entering an entirely different world. Sometimes locals do unusual things, and other times tourists do—but few incidents are as peculiar as this one.
The man, Zarni Aung, 26, dressed two highly realistic, olive-toned sex dolls in traditional attire and crowns, preparing them for a bizarre wedding ceremony at Yangon’s Shwedagon Pagoda. Zarni Aung was accompanied by seven others when security officers intervened and halted the unusual proceedings.
Instead, the group set up a puppet-theater-like stage in the pagoda’s parking area to carry out the ritual. Published footage shows a curious crowd watching as the dolls, each about 5.5 feet tall, received baskets of flowers and fruit as wedding gifts. Myanmar’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture issued a statement saying they have filed charges against Zarni Aung and the group for insulting Buddhism.
