SAEDNEWS: The delegations of the United States and Ukraine achieved "a lot of progress" during negotiations in the German capital of Berlin, US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff stated.
Representatives held detailed talks on a 20-point peace plan, economic priorities, and other issues, Witkoff said in a post on X. “Significant progress was made, and the sides will meet again tomorrow morning.”
On December 14, U.S.–Ukrainian negotiations aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine took place at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.
The U.S. delegation included Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump. Ukraine was represented by President Volodymyr Zelensky, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, and Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Andriy Hnatov. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz briefly addressed the participants before leaving the meeting room.
