SAEDNEWS: Iranian First Vice President left Tehran for Moscow on Monday morning to attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

According to Saed News Agency, Mohammad Reza Aref, Iran’s First Vice President, is scheduled to attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Moscow on Tuesday.

As announced by the Iranian Embassy in Russia, ahead of this high-level gathering, the meeting of national coordinators from SCO member states began on Friday in Moscow. The consultations focused on the organization’s documents and proposals, setting the stage for the upcoming summit.

The session, which concluded on Sunday, included Mehrdad Kiaei, Director General for SCO and BRICS Affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iran’s national coordinator for the SCO. Discussions centered on preparations for the SCO Prime Ministers’ summit, including the draft joint final declaration, the multilateral trade and economic cooperation program for 2026–2030, and the Council of Heads of Government’s resolution on the organization’s 2026 budget.

Key agenda items also included the roadmap for member-state cooperation in social development and protection for 2026–2028, collaboration between railway organizations, measures to enhance financial infrastructure, e-commerce development, promotion of mutual investments, and joint efforts to combat plague.
