SAEDNEWS: The US and Ukrainian delegations have stressed in a meeting the need for measures to cease hostilities and de-escalate tensions in Ukraine.
The US and Ukrainian delegations, who met in Florida on December 5, stressed the importance of taking steps to halt hostilities and reduce tensions in Ukraine, the US Department of State said in a statement.
According to the statement, negotiators highlighted that “credible measures toward a ceasefire and de-escalation” are essential to prevent the conflict from reigniting and to begin implementing “Ukraine’s comprehensive redevelopment plan.”
The talks included Special Envoy for Peace Steven Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, alongside Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff, General Andrey Gnatov.
