Trump Thanks Iran: 'Tehran, Thank You…

According to the political desk of Saed News, U.S. President Donald Trump, during a joint press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on Thursday, commented on Tehran’s stance regarding the Gaza peace plan, saying: “Tehran, thank you!”

ISNA reports that in response to a journalist’s question about whether the people of Gaza would be forced to leave the area under the peace plan, Trump replied: “No one will be forced to leave. It’s exactly the opposite. This is an extraordinary peace plan. Everyone supports it.”

When asked if he would continue increasing pressure to reach a deal in Ukraine, Trump said: “Yes. We will continue to increase pressure together.”

He further stated that the U.S. is selling a massive volume of weapons to NATO, which in turn supplies them to Ukraine.

Responding to a question about defending Finland in case of a Russian attack, Trump said: “Yes, we would defend them. They are NATO members, but I don’t think that will happen. They wouldn’t do such a thing. The likelihood is very, very low.”

Trump did not rule out the possibility of imposing further sanctions on Russia.

Criticizing Spain’s perceived inaction within NATO, he told his Finnish counterpart: “Honestly, maybe you should consider expelling this country from NATO.”

During the conference, Finnish President Niinistö thanked Trump for helping secure what he called a “historic” agreement in Gaza. He also praised Trump for pressuring Europe to refrain from purchasing Russian oil and gas, saying: “This was the right decision. Europe has now implemented its nineteenth sanctions package. Russia is currently not strong militarily or economically, and that is due to our commitment to Ukraine.”
