Saed News:In one word, Qeshm is astonishing—truly astonishing! The nature of Qeshm is so captivating, pristine, and extraordinary that you will never tire of its breathtaking landscapes and attractions. Traveling to Qeshm introduces you to a completely different side of Iran’s nature, one you may have never imagined.
According to the Tourism Service of Saed News, Qeshm is Iran's largest island, located in the Strait of Hormuz. It shares borders with Bandar Abbas, Bandar Khamir, Larak Island, Hengam Island, and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs. The island is known for its vast area, diverse climate, and unique natural phenomena. The highest recorded temperature in Qeshm is 46°C, while the lowest is 16°C.
The climate of Qeshm is warm and humid for most of the year. The intense heat and direct sunlight will give you a natural tan during your visit. If you are sensitive to hot weather, avoid traveling to Qeshm during summer and late spring. However, autumn and winter offer pleasant temperatures, allowing you to explore the island in light clothing.
As mentioned, Qeshm has a warm climate, so the best time to visit is autumn and winter. However, if hot weather doesn’t bother you and you're looking for a budget-friendly tour, the warmer months can be a great option.
During the Nowruz holidays (Iranian New Year), Qeshm becomes more lively with numerous festivals and recreational activities, making it a great time for a memorable trip.
To reduce travel costs, look for budget-friendly Qeshm tours. The cheapest tours are usually available in the peak of summer and late March (end of the Iranian year). If you are a fan of last-minute deals, keep your luggage ready—once you find a discounted last-minute tour, you can set off immediately.
For those who prefer self-planned trips over guided tours, the key is to find cheap flights to Qeshm. Budget-friendly plane tickets are also more available in summer and late March. Additionally, after the Nowruz holidays and summer break, you’re more likely to find discounted flights.
There are two types of Qeshm tours:
Air Tours: Include a flight ticket, hotel reservation, and sometimes a guided island tour.
Land Tours: You travel to Bandar Abbas by train, then take a boat to Qeshm.
The cost of a Qeshm tour also depends on the hotel category. If you're looking for cheaper options, you might need to stay in 2-star or 3-star hotels. However, if you can afford a higher budget, 4-star hotels are available (Qeshm currently has no 5-star hotels).
The quickest and most comfortable way to reach Qeshm is by airplane. The cost of Qeshm flights varies depending on the airline, travel class, and departure time. Prices can also fluctuate based on seasonal demand and national holidays.
Several airlines operate flights to Qeshm, including Iran Air, Mahan Air, Meraj, ATA, Taban, and Iran Airtour. However, the highest number of flights are offered by Qeshm Air.
If you're on a budget, land travel is a cost-effective option, as it eliminates expensive flight costs. Some travelers prefer road trips to explore other cities along the way, making land travel to Qeshm quite popular.
To get to Qeshm via land, you can travel to Bandar Abbas by personal car or train.
If your city has a railway station, you can take a train to Bandar Abbas. For example, the Tehran-Qeshm train takes approximately 18.5 hours.
Upon arrival in Bandar Abbas, you must take a boat to Qeshm. Passenger boats depart hourly from Shahid Haghani Port to Shahid Zakeri Port in Qeshm. This 50-minute boat ride offers stunning sea views.
Pack your bags, check your car’s condition, fill the fuel tank, and hit the road! If you enjoy road trips, this journey can be exciting and scenic. Though the distance might be long, stopping in various cities along the way makes it more enjoyable.
After reaching Bandar Abbas, drive to Bandar Pol (70 km from the city center). From there, you board a "Landing Craft" ferry with your car. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes to reach Qeshm Island.
After booking your flight or train ticket, the next step is to reserve a hotel. Since there are no 5-star hotels in Qeshm, the best accommodations are 4-star hotels, such as:
Ataman Hotel
Erm Hotel
For a more budget-friendly stay, 3-star hotels are a great option. Some of the most popular ones include:
Singo Hotel
Rokhsar Hotel
Reyhan Hotel
For a unique and cultural experience, consider staying in an eco-lodge instead of a hotel. These traditional accommodations preserve their historic architecture while offering modern facilities. They are often decorated with local handicrafts, and guests typically sleep on traditional Persian bedding.
Food lovers will also enjoy delicious homemade local cuisine at these eco-lodges.
If you want to visit Kish Island after exploring Qeshm, a multi-step sea journey is required since there is no direct ferry between the two islands. You must first take a boat to Bandar Pol or Bandar Abbas, then travel to Bandar Lengeh, where you can catch a ship to Kish.
Previously, the Sunny Cruise Ship operated direct trips between Kish and Qeshm, but it is currently not in service.
Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or cultural experiences, Qeshm is a remarkable destination with pristine nature, stunning landscapes, and diverse attractions. By choosing the right travel method and accommodation, you can plan an affordable and unforgettable trip to Iran’s largest island.
