SAEDNEWS: The Future of Urban Transport Is Here: The VT35 Self-Driving Flying Taxi Can Fly Up to 125 Miles on a Single Charge, Transforming City and Intercity Travel
Imagine soaring across the city without traffic or fatigue. Chinese company EHang is turning this long-held dream into reality with its new driverless VT35 flying taxi—an electric vehicle that can fly over 125 miles on a single charge. This autonomous, safe aircraft, featuring advanced design and vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, promises to transform the future of urban air travel.
According to the New York Post, EHang unveiled the next-generation VT35 flying taxi. This electric, pilotless vehicle can cover up to 125 miles on a single charge.
The VT35 made its debut on October 13, 2025, in Hefei, Anhui Province, and is designed to provide safe, comfortable, and efficient intercity travel. The new model is based on the VT30 prototype and can carry two passengers.
Equipped with eight propellers for vertical takeoff and landing, the VT35 can land on rooftops, parking lots, and small bases. Featuring fixed wings and a rear propeller, it can fly horizontally at speeds up to 134 mph. This smart design reduces energy consumption and addresses the range limitations that have long been a major criticism of eVTOL aircraft.
In recent tests, the VT35 successfully transitioned from vertical takeoff to horizontal flight for the first time. With cutting-edge technology and a unique design, this flying taxi delivers a safe and modern urban air travel experience. EHang aims to revolutionize city and intercity travel with the VT35, envisioning a future where flying taxis could even soar over mountains and seas.
