SAEDNEWS: Khersin is one of the few remaining intact salt caves in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan.
Located in Siaho, about 80 kilometers from Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan Province, the Khersin Salt Cave is a fascinating natural wonder.
The cave is formed entirely of slippery salt rocks, so visitors are advised to tread carefully while exploring. Its entrance stands 3 meters high and 4 meters wide, leading into a 178-meter-long passage.
Inside, a straight corridor guides adventurers directly to the bottom of the cave, 170 meters away, with no confusing paths or dead ends—a feature that makes navigation easier and safer.
Khersin, the nearby village, sits in northern Hormozgan and experiences arid, dry summers and mild, mountainous winters. Recognized as a national natural landmark, the Khersin Salt Cave offers both a thrilling adventure and a unique glimpse into the region’s geological heritage.
