Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, in Riyadh on Tuesday in a move signaling renewed dialogue between the two regional powers.

Khalid bin Salman opened the meeting by expressing gratitude for Iran’s hospitality during his visit to Tehran earlier this year and emphasized the importance of continuing constructive engagement.

The discussions focused on emerging regional challenges, the implementation of agreements reached in previous dialogue rounds, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in defense and security sectors.

Larijani was joined by Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy for Foreign Policy at Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Mohammad Ali Bak, Assistant to the Foreign Minister for Persian Gulf Affairs.

This Riyadh visit marks Larijani’s third international mission since assuming his role as Secretary. He previously conducted high-level consultations in Baghdad and Beirut, underscoring Iran’s proactive approach to regional diplomacy and security coordination.
