Iran, Pakistan Military Chiefs Discuss Flood Relief and Border Security

According to Saed News, Major General Seyed Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, held a telephone conversation with Field Marshal Asim Munir, Commander of the Pakistan Army.

During the call, General Mousavi expressed his condolences to the people of Pakistan for the losses and damages caused by the recent floods and stated: “Any assistance that the Armed Forces of Iran can provide will be offered with pride to our dear brothers in Pakistan.”

He further emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan at various levels, particularly at the highest level, describing them as exemplary of fraternal relations.

Mousavi also highlighted the necessity of securing the shared borders, noting: “Unfortunately, the activities of terrorist groups have increased on both sides of the border. We are ready to cooperate to eradicate terrorism in this region and secure the common borders.”

Acknowledging Pakistan’s support for Iran during the 12-day Sacred Defense, Mousavi expressed hope that practical measures against terrorists would continue and expand, compensating for any past shortcomings.

Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked General Mousavi for his condolences and expressed sympathy for the Iranian security personnel martyred in Sistan and Baluchestan. He also emphasized agreement on border security, stating: “We must transform the Pakistan-Iran border into a border of friendship, brotherhood, and economic development, and we will accomplish this through joint cooperation.”
